HIGHLIGHT INFO

Set in the historic city of Plymouth, Plymouth College is a large, co-educational, private UK boarding school. Founded in 1877, the outstanding curriculum includes almost 20 A-Level subjects and GCSE core courses of which 90% of students receive A*-C grades. With around 500 pupils and a dedicated team of teaching and support staff; the favourable pupil-staff ratio means small classes, a broad curriculum and a great deal of individual attention and support to ensure that all pupils reach their potential. In the classroom pupils are encouraged to look beyond the confines of the curriculum and gain the ability to work with independence, tenacity and flair. Plymouth College is a place to excel both in and outside of the classroom. The opportunities available encourage participation in an impressive range of sporting, artistic, musical, dramatic and other activities which mean that everyone is able to find success and enjoyment in their own way.

Facilities
The expansive 17-acre campus is proud of its modern facilities. There's a swim centre with pool and diving platform, an indoor archery court, gymnasium and more. Each classroom in the senior school is fitted with the latest information and communication technology.

Sports and Arts
Athletics are a highlight at Plymouth College. It's best known for its elite swimming and diving programmes and runs a Modern Pentathlon and Fencing Academy which sees athletes compete in world, European and national competitions. With the best natural harbours in Europe in close proximity, students can learn how to race sail dinghies. Sixth Form students have their own enrichment activities such as Duke of Edinburgh Award, Combined Cadet Form, Master Chef, equestrian, dance and more.

Dormitories and Student Life
The single or double rooms have a bed, storage cupboards, a wardrobe, a desk and a chair. On Saturday afternoons, students may choose to walk into the city to shop, see a film, go bowling etc. Off-site excursions are organised every Sunday; trips to nearby beaches, walks in Dartmoor and paint-balling are just some of the fun activities that boarders can enjoy in their spare time. As well as pupils from the local area, the school community boasts pupils from 40 different nationalities, giving it a real international dimension.
