Located in the heart of sunny Columbia, South Carolina, Ben Lippen School has more than a dozen AP courses to choose from. Students can graduate as “Innovative Scholars,” an academic option with tracks in robotics, pre-engineering, or pre-business. The school’s partnership with Columbia International University offers students several dual enrollment courses. Ben Lippen School has a low international student population, giving international students an immersive experience.

FACILITIES
Ben Lippen School shares a campus and amenities with Columbia International University. The 400 acre campus includes modern science labs, a band/music studio, a gymnasium, and several athletic fields. In August of 2018, Ben Lippen completed construction on its brand new 8-lane, Olympic-quality running track.

SPORTS AND ARTS
In 2016, several Ben Lippen athletes made the league All-Star baseball, softball, and soccer teams. Samkon Gado of the NFL’s Green Bay Packers graduated from Ben Lippen in 2001. Teams regularly go to and win state championships.
Students can take media, fine arts, visual arts, and music classes such as digital media, drawing, and band.

AWARDS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Ben Lippen awarded 55 National Merit Scholars in the last 20 years, four of whom were in 2017. Both the football and cross country teams have won state championships in the past three seasons.

DORMITORIES AND STUDENT LIFE
Boarding students live in family-style cabins staffed by house parents. Each suite has a telephone, wireless internet connection, and television. Students are integrated into Columbia International University’s campus, sharing the dining hall and other amenities.
