HIGHLIGHT INFO

Founded in 1792, Fryeburg Academy is a historic, academically rigorous school located in a classic New England village. The school offers specialized programs such as the film making program taught by a director who formerly worked at Hollywood’s MGM Studios. Additionally, the math program has won many state and regional championships.

FACILITIES
The rural 105-acre campus features an art gallery and a state-of-the-art Performing Arts Center where 80 school and local performances are held each year. The school is currently building a new dining hall and student center.

SPORTS AND ARTS
Fryeburg offers over 20 varsity sports teams. The Nordic ski program is exceptional, having recently won the state championship and graduates have gone on to compete in the Olympics.
Fryeburg Academy’s performing arts and music programs are outstanding. The school has won multiple first place championships in vocal jazz, big band, and new standard jazz combo in both the state and the national Berklee High School Jazz Festival.

DORMITORIES AND STUDENT LIFE
Boarding students stay in on-campus dormitories equipped with televisions, lounges, and computers. All students participate in an after-school activity each week such as cooking lessons, swimming, or tennis at an off-campus facility. On weekends, the school organizes activities such as water tubing, trips to Portland, and campfires.
