The Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) is located southeast of Los Angeles. The district maintains its reputation for academic excellence by offer challenging academic programs that focus on college preparation.

FACILITIES
Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified has modernized over 20 of the schools in their district including 3 of the high schools. To help better serve students, they built a 4th high school which was completed in 2009. The schools now have state-of-art facilities including science labs, classroom technology, and fine arts facilities.

SPORTS AND ARTS
Students participate in a wide variety of sports and have great facilities for games and practice. Sports available include Water Polo, Golf, Tennis, and Swimming to name a few. State regulations in California can cause some restrictions for international students playing Varsity-level sports at their school. Please contact us for details.
PYLUSD Performing Art Center (PAC) is designed as a multi-use concert hall and theater with a house capacity of over 600 seats. PAC is nationally recognized for its visual and performing arts programs.

AWARDS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS
The district’s schools have achieved awards including: multiple California Distinguished Schools, multiple National Blue Ribbon Schools, multiple California Gold Ribbon Schools, a California Model Continuation High School, and a California’s Exemplary Independent Study recognition. The district has also been placed on the College Board’s AP District Honor Roll three times since 2011. PYLUSD high schools are consistently named to “America’s Best High Schools” rankings issued by Newsweek, U.S. News and World Report, among others.

COMMUNITY INFORMATION
PYLUSD is located in the great area of Placentia where international students can take advantage of many outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking, skiing and Orange County beaches. Also, a short metro ride away, Los Angeles offers world class shopping, dining and entertainment. Universal Studios and Disneyland are exciting attractions for students!
