Alameda Unified School District offers its diverse community of students a rigorous secondary education with 12 Advanced Placement courses in a variety of subjects,
while also providing a supportive learning environment for academic achievement and growth. Some of the District’s famous graduates include rock legend Jim Morrison of The
Doors, and many professional sports figures.

A swimming pool, auditoriums, sports fields and media centers are some of the outstanding facilities in Alameda Unified School District.
Alameda has a very competitive athletic program, with many graduates going on to play baseball professionally. Students have had the opportunity to compete in 8 WACC (West
Alameda County Conference) titles, as well as take home a number of exciting 2nd and 3rd place finishes, in the 2015/2016 school year.
Committed to exposing students to the arts, Encinal High School offers programs in visual and multimedia art, journalism, yearbook, choir, music, theater, and dance.

Both of the Alameda Unified School District’s public high schools (Alameda and Encinal) have been recognized by U.S. News and World Report as two of the top high schools in
the country.
