Burr and Burton Academy

Private Boarding School – Manchester , Vermont

Burr and Burton Academy is an independent, coeducational New England secondary school with about 9% of the students attending from other countries. Situated at the foot of Mt. Equinox Mountain and overlooking picturesque Manchester Village, the school offers a broad array of academic choices, from numerous Advanced Placement courses to special interest electives. An international student counselor works with all students to develop an academic plan.

FACILITIES
Burr and Burton Academy has both historic and newly renovated facilities on its college like campus. They include a sky observatory, a high-tech computer lab, a large
woodworking shop, a STEAM lab (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) and more.

SPORTS AND ARTS
Students have the opportunity to participate in 16 interscholastic sports programs which practice and compete under the lights at the town Rec Park and Riley Rink, as well as at
local golf courses and Ski Mountains. Students can also take advantage courses like animation in their dance, drama, music and fine arts programs.

AWARDS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS
The BBA competitive sports teams won 44 state championships in 10 years and students in the art department brought home 5 congressional art awards. The Campus won the
Mountain Campus Governor’s Award for Environmental Excellence.

DORMITORIES AND STUDENT LIFE
The school has four dorms, accommodating a total of 18 boys and 14 girls, within walking distance to school. Rooms are mostly doubles with a few singles. All dorms have wireless
internet, TV, telephone service, a computer area, living room, dining room and kitchen.
