Founded in 1867, Lyndon Institute is a historic co-educational boarding school for students in grades 9-12 offering a college preparatory program as well as courses in the
arts, business, English as a Second Language, and computer applications and technology.
Lyndon Institute’s 150-acre campus is centered on the historic village green of Lyndon Center in northeastern Vermont. The campus’ academic and sport facilities include science
labs, computer labs, a multimedia center/library, sports fields, a track and field facility and more. There is also a community hockey rink next to school.
SPORTS AND ARTS
Lyndon has impressive sports teams. Indoor track, boys’ basketball, girls’ slopestyle snowboarding, boys’ giant slalom alpine skiing, and girls’ softball are all 2015-16 State
Champions. Lyndon Institute reflects its commitment to the arts by requiring all students to take at least one credit in the fine arts during their high school career. Students have many
options, including AP level art classes, painting, acting, introduction and techniques in dance and chorus.
DORMITORIES AND STUDENT LIFE
The school has six dormitories, three large and three smaller cottage style dormitories that can accommodate 103 boarding students. Each dormitory’s lounge area is equipped
with a television, kitchen and computers. Most dormitory rooms are single rooms.
