School Description

East Sussex College is based in the beautiful South Downs area of South East England in the lively town of Hastings. Thanks to the high standard of teaching across a broad range of courses, the college boasts consistently outstanding examination results and in 2018 the A Level pass rate was 96.6%. East Sussex College is also a private English language school with accreditation from the British Council for its English language provision and is renowned as one of the top English language providers in the UK.

Facilities

The college’s Hasting campus is well-connected to other nearby coastal towns. Thanks to this, East Sussex College students can have a range of experiences and see different sights around the college area. Hastings is an historic town, famous for the Battle of Hastings in 1066. The campus is equipped with a wide range of sporting amenities and there are leisure centres, swimming pools, gyms and athletics training facilities, as well as state-of-the-art buildings equipped with everything students will need for more practical subjects such as Construction & Engineering and Photography.

Sports & Arts

East Sussex College offers a range of sporting options to students, including Football, Netball and Rugby Academies which combine weekly training with professional coaching and competitions. Other sports such as Badminton, Basketball, Hockey, Golf, Squash, Table Tennis and Volleyball can be played in various teams. The college is also home to the East Sussex Academy of Music, where instrumental lessons and working with professional musicians is on offer, and the Performing Arts Academy, where staff with a wide range of industry experience and academic knowledge prepare students for a career in Dance, Drama, Music Theatre or Production.

Student Life

Both local and international students are warmly welcomed at East Sussex College. The college has recently taken home an award for Excellence in International Student Support in Further Education from the National Union of Students and the UK Council for International Student Affairs, and prides itself on the well-rounded experience it can provide to those students arriving from overseas. With 200 international students at any one time, from around 35 different countries, this rich mix of cultures and backgrounds makes for a vibrant, exciting and welcoming learning community.
