Paradise Valley Unified School District is the 7th largest school district in the state of Arizona with four high schools accepting international students. All the district’s high schools offer Advanced Placement (AP) and Honors courses and a wide variety of extracurricular and after-school activities to keep students engaged and stimulated, intellectually and physically. Many of the high schools in the Paradise Valley Unified School District have exceptional programs like the prestigious International Baccalaureate (IB) at North Canyon High.
Some of the district’s outstanding facilities include Horizon High School’s recently re- modeled 1,000-seat auditorium and North Canyon High School’s large capacity artificial-turf football stadium. Because Phoenix has great weather year round, all campuses have beautiful park-like settings with lunch tables, benches and lots of open-air areas for kids to gather and enjoy a healthy outdoor lifestyle.
SPORTS AND ARTS
All students are encouraged to pursue their interests whether that be on one of the competitive athletics teams/clubs or playing an instrument. The arts program is particularly impressive and includes unique course offering such as culinary arts, architectural drafting and photojournalism.

Christian Brothers High School
School Profile Founded in 1876 by the De La Salle Christian Brothers, Christian Brothers High School is the only co-educational four-year college preparatory Catholic high school located in Sacramento, California. The school strongly encourages diversity in the composition of its student body. Christian Brother’s alumni base is more than 14,000 strong with graduates going on to attend prestigious colleges and universities to become physicians, actors, authors, researchers, athletes, teachers, and entrepreneurs. Scottsdale Unified School District
DISTRICT PROFILE Scottsdale Unified School District (SUSD) accepts international students at five high schools from grades 9 to 12. Saguaro High School is one of the best high schools in the state of Arizona and showcases SUSD’s dedication to education. At Saguaro they offer programs such as the International Baccalaureate and STEM amongst others. All of the district’s high schools focus on contributing to the international student’s academic and cultural experience in America. FACILITIES The Scottsdale Unified School District boasts impressive campuses. Both the Arcadia and Saguaro High School campuses have recently been updated to better serve students. Many of SUSD’s schools feature computer labs, theaters, career centers, and production labs like Coronado High School. SPORTS AND ARTS SUSD Schools promote growth and teamwork through their sports programs. From 2015 to 2016, students brought home five State Sports Championships. To allow students to expand creatively, some fantastic arts programs are offered too. Students at Chaparral can take Culinary Arts or Sports Medicine; at Arcadia Advertising Art; and at Desert Mountain they are known for its award winning Visual and Performing Arts. AWARDS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS Chaparral High School ranked #1 in the state and is the only school in Arizona to have student winners of the Siemens Westinghouse Competition and Intel Science Talent Search, two of the most prestigious science competitions in the U.S. COMMUNITY INFORMATION Located only 20 minutes outside of Phoenix, Scottsdale is an urban metropolitan city known for its warm weather and is often referred to as a “golfer’s paradise.” It has more than 40 parks, 7 community centers, and dozens of recreation programs.

Higley Unified School District offers well-rounded, rigorous curricula that include music, art, language, physical education and technology. Dedicated to student achievement, the schools provide a wide-range of Advanced Placement courses, Honors courses, STEM and engineering courses, along with career and technical education. The district offers a wide range of curriculum designed to challenge all students and prepare them for college after high school. Some of these programs include a full range of AP, honors, and dual enrollment courses along with STEM, Engineering, Career and Technical Education programs. In addition to a commitment to outstanding academics, they encourage all students to participate in one of 50 extra-curricular activities. Whether it be fine arts, sports, student council, or one of many campus clubs, Higley Unified School District is the place to enhance international student’s high school experience. Facilities All of the District’s campuses have sports fields, theaters and science labs. Some also include broadcast studios and engineering labs for their accelerated programs. Sports and Arts International students from grades 9 to 11 are invited to take part in junior varsity-level sports teams which have won many national and state awards. Participation in extracurricular activities and clubs is another great way for international students to experience an authentic American high school lifestyle. In particular, students can get involved with the District’s award winning music department programs. Awards and Accomplishments The Arizona Department of Education ranks Higley Unified School District 3rd in the state (A rating) and the Washington Post named one of its high schools “America’s Most Challenging.” Community Information The city of Gilbert, ranked as one of the best places to live and learn in the U.S. by CNN/Money Magazine, is warm and sunny all year round.
