School DescriptionFound in northern California, Chico Unified School District is known for academic excellence. International students are eligible to attend one of three high schools within the district and are encourage to join school activities and clubs.
The district offers a wide array of facilities at each high school campus. They offer auditoriums, libraries, science and computer labs, sports fields, tracks, and more. The district regularly makes updates to their schools to ensure they are modern and is currently working on a new high school gym project for one of their high schools.
SPORTS AND ARTS
Chico Unified has a number of teams ranging from cross country to snowboarding. The cross country team has taken part in several championship titles in the last ten years.
Art courses at Chico Unified School District are plentiful and fill student interests from photography to band to drawing. The school theater departments are also known to put on drama and musical productions.
AWARDS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Several schools within the district have received the California Gold Ribbon School over the last few year with the latest high school receiving it in 2017. Additionally, in the last 10 years, one of the district’s three high school cross country teams are 7-time Championship participants for the Eastern Athletic League and the Northern Section CIF.
Chico, in the heart of the Sacramento Valley, is located 1.5 hours north of Sacramento, the capital of California, and about three hours north east of San Francisco. The city gives off a university town vibe and hosts the California State University of Chico. Students will be able to enjoy theater performances, concerts, Friday night music events downtown along with fishing, hiking, kayaking and more! Chico is also within driving distance of both Lake Tahoe and Yosemite National Park.

Educatius Group’s USA F-1 Inbound High School Program Listed by CSIET for 7th year in a Row
"Enjoy every moment like it is your last.” That phrase was my motto I lived by this past year.
It is impossible to believe March is coming to an end. With that being said, just a small reminder that Graduation is less than two months away and not to mention Prom is next month!!! Time truly flies when you are having a good time and when you are far away from home.
It's a great challenge for international students to leave their home and comfort zone. But living with an American host family will leave you with a lot of good memories. Today let me share with you my tips from living with host families for three years in American high schools!

With over 168,000 students, Los Angeles Unified School District is the 2nd largest in the country. Four of their public high schools accept international students. The district’s outstanding academics have earned it a California Gold Ribbon Award. Schools in the district offer a combined 14 foreign languages and over 40 AP courses as well as honors options. FACILITIES Los Angeles Unified School District’s recent improvements to their campus facilities include new or upgraded sports complexes, outdoor communal areas and quads, and state-of-the-art learning and performing arts centers. SPORTS AND ARTS The district’s championships teams compete in a variety of sports including golf, soccer, American football, and water polo. The All District High School Honor Band is world renowned, drawing the finest musicians from its individual high school band programs.
