School Description

Idyllwild Arts Academy is a well-renowned, arts-focused private boarding school in the United States. The academy offers prestigious training in creative writing, dance, fashion design, film and digital media, interdisciplinary arts, music, theater, and visual arts. Idyllwild graduates are sought after by some of the top conservatories and universities around the world.

Located on a 200-acre campus in California’s San Jacinto Mountains, campus facilities include a brand new concert hall, performance spaces, art studios, galleries, and an open-air theater. Students also have access to a swimming pool, tennis courts, a fitness center, basketball courts, a writing resource center, an observatory, and a bookstore.

Instead of an organized athletics program, Idyllwild Arts Academy provides recreational facilities for students’ athletic development.
Idyllwild focuses on pre-professional training to gifted young artists. Idyllwild Arts Academy is one of the most recognized names in secondary art education. Students develop as professional artists in the field of their choice under the guidance of accomplished and distinguished instructors.

Students share a bedroom with one roommate in recently renovated on-campus dormitories. Housing options include a gender-inclusive dorm and an upperclassman honors dorm.
