Lake Tahoe Preparatory School
School DescriptionFormerly called the Squaw Valley Academy, Lake Tahoe Preparatory School is surrounded by Tahoe National Forest, Lake Tahoe, and Squaw Valley Ski Resort, and incorporates daily outdoor activity into its college preparatory curriculum. The school features year round athletic opportunities, individualized instruction, and an Apple laptop for each student.
Lake Tahoe Preparatory Academy’s campus is situated within the Sierra Nevada mountain range. The campus is minutes from Lake Tahoe, a ski resort, and a national forest. It features science labs, a darkroom, a music lab, and art studios.
SPORTS AND ARTS
The campus is located two miles from a 3,500-acre Olympic ski resort, providing students the opportunity to ski or snowboard seven days a week during the winter months. In addition to multiple highly competitive ski and snowboard teams, Lake Tahoe Preparatory
Academy offer other various athletics options year-round. The school’s fine arts program offers diverse options such as jewelry design, photography, and videography.
DORMITORIES AND STUDENT LIFE
Students live two to three to a room in on-campus dormitories overlooking Tahoe National Forest and participate in weekend activities and excursions such as mountain biking, city trips, and formal dinners.
