I recently graduated from the IB Diploma Programme, one of the most demanding, but also rewarding, curriculums across the globe.
My host family helped me to feel comfortable, and supported me through everything, especially teaching me English and American culture! They took really good care of me and made me feel part of their family. It is hard to say goodbye, but I will come back to visit. They will always be a part of my heart.

It is impossible to believe March is coming to an end. With that being said, just a small reminder that Graduation is less than two months away and not to mention Prom is next month!!! Time truly flies when you are having a good time and when you are far away from home.
It's a great challenge for international students to leave their home and comfort zone. But living with an American host family will leave you with a lot of good memories. Today let me share with you my tips from living with host families for three years in American high schools!

Food is important when studying abroad. Today, I will give you an introduction to American foods you need to try while abroad.
Dexter High School is a four-year comprehensive high school. Ranked as a top 40 school by US News and World Report, in Michigan, over 80% of teachers and professional staff hold advanced degrees. The Journalism, Debate, Forensics, Robotics, and Quiz Bowl clubs have also won awards in state and national competitions. FACILITIES Established in 2002, the school has modern classrooms and is connected to the Dexter Center for the Performing Arts. SPORTS AND ARTS Dexter Community Schools compete in the Southeastern Conference of the MHSAA. A strong athletics program, the boys swim team has won the Lower Peninsula Division 2 title in 2012, 2016, and 2017. The school also has a number of arts programs. Students can join many art and music clubs as well as participate in drama productions. COMMUNITY INFORMATION Dexter, Michigan, is a suburban community that is 45 minutes west of Detroit. The area is home to several colleges, including The University of Michigan, Eastern Michigan University,
Dewitt High School has excellent academics, a number of extracurricular activities, and plenty of athletic and art opportunities. The school offers dual-credit enrollment with local community colleges, as well as Michigan State University, and it’s also the home to the DeWitt Creativity Group, an inclusive group which encourages students to innovate through projects in the arts, entrepreneurship, and STEM. FACILITIES The high school has state-of-the-art classrooms, as well as an indoor pool and gymnasium. Its outdoor athletic facilities are impressive, too, featuring new tennis courts, the Dewitt Memorial Stadium, and an all-weather running track. SPORTS AND ARTS Athletics are very much part of the DeWitt High School culture. Football games routinely draw large crowds, and it is common for members of the community to show up and support the school’s athletic teams. Saline High School is a co-ed public high school located in Saline, Michigan, 1 hour from Detroit. With a focus on STEAM, the school offers international students many opportunities, including the FIRST Robotics Competition, Destination Imagination, Science Olympiad, and Project Lead the Way - Medical and Engineering. FACILITIES The school has a 3 story auditorium, music practice rooms, computer room, and a well-equipped library. The athletic facilities at the school include a football field, a pool, an indoor gymnasium, a weight room, a gymnastic practice room, and a wrestling room. SPORTS AND ARTS Offering many team sports, students can take part in football, cheerleading, basketball, equestrian, skiing and more.
