Set in the historic city of Plymouth, Plymouth College is a large, coeducational, private UK boarding school. Founded in 1877, the outstanding curriculum includes almost 20 A-Level subjects and GCSE core courses of which 90% of students receive A*-C grades. Among Plymouth College's famous alumni are comedian and scriptwriter Dawn French and 2012 & 2016 Olympic bronze medallist in diving, Tom Daley.
The expansive 17-acre campus is proud of its modern facilities. There's a swim centre with pool and diving platform, an indoor archery court, gymnasium and more. Each classroom in the senior school is fitted with the latest information and communication technology.
Sports and Arts
Athletics are a highlight at Plymouth College. It's best known for its elite swimming and diving programmes and runs a Modern Pentathlon and Fencing Academy which sees athletes compete in world, European and national competitions. With the best natural harbours in Europe in close proximity, students can learn how to race sail dinghies. Sixth Form students have their own enrichment activities such as Duke of Edinburgh Award, Combined Cadet Form, Master Chef, equestrian, dance and more.
Dormitories and Student Life
The single or double rooms have a bed, storage cupboards, a wardrobe, a desk and a chair. On Saturday afternoons, students may choose to walk into the city to shop, see a film, go bowling etc. Off-site activities are organised every Sunday; trips to nearby beaches, walks in Dartmoor, paint balling are some of the enjoyable things they have to do.
