The Burnaby School District is a leading Public School District located in the center of Greater Vancouver, only 25 minutes from downtown Vancouver, the Pacific Ocean, and the North Shore Mountains. In addition to foreign languages options and ESL, students choose from a wide variety of courses including Honors courses, Advanced Placement courses, French Immersion, and many elective courses. Burnaby School District has one of the largest AP Programs in all of Canada with courses including Chemistry, Computer Science, Economics, Music Theory, and even the AP Capstone Diploma Program. Students can join many clubs and extracurricular programs like dance, photography, Model United Nations, debate team, and more. Burnaby is also well known for its programs in robotics, gaming, cyber security, drama, and visual arts.

FACILITIES
Schools in the Burnaby School District have modern facilities with state-of-the-art technology, with MAC and PC computer labs, gymnasiums, weight training rooms, sports fields, a dance studio, a drama theater, music rooms, art studios, a cafeteria, and science labs for biology, chemistry, and physics. Other specific facilities in the Burnaby School District include the Michael J. Fox Theater, a fully functioning TV studio, a United Nations video conference theater, and outdoor and indoor track and field facilities.

SPORTS AND ARTS
Students in the Burnaby School District can participate in a variety of individual and team sports. Ice hockey is extremely popular in British Columbia. Many students in the Burnaby School District also play soccer, basketball, track and field, and lacrosse. The Burnaby School District also offers sports academies for students who choose to place a heavier focus on their athletics, including ice hockey, soccer, swimming, volleyball, and lacrosse.
The Burnaby School District offers students the opportunity to develop their artistic talent through programs in music and performing arts. Students also have access to the Michael J. Fox Theater, which is a 613-seat auditorium with professional grade equipment that hosts community and school performances.

AWARDS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Buraby won the 2016 and 2017 Study Travel Magazine STAR High School Award. Students in the Burnaby School District also are recipients of many scholarships and go on to attend prestigious universities.
