SCHOOLS AND ACADEMIES
The Rocky Mountain School District is located in South Eastern British Columbia. They are home to a number of schools who welcome international students from around the world.
Students in this district have the option of French Immersion to improve their language skills. Students will learn from knowledgeable teachers in an array of subjects from the more traditional Math, English, and Science courses, to newer or more vocational subjects such as Outdoor Skills, woodwork, cookery, and carpentry.
Students can make use of numerous facilities including a Learning commons, various computer labs, science labs, photo lab, playing fields, and gymnasiums.
SPORTS AND ARTS
Along with a number of sports teams, students can try out for during the school year, students can also take part in the Hockey Skills Academy allowing students to get practice on the ice twice a week.
Students in this district have access to a fantastic Art program allowing students to explore different mediums including drawing, sculpture, painting, and ceramics. Students can also concentrate on different artistic mediums with classes available in band and drama.
Students are placed in the communities of Golden, Kimberley, and Invermere. All mountain towns/cities have easy access to world-class recreational opportunities including amazing downhill skiing and snowboarding at Revelstoke Mountain Resort, Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, Panorama Mountain Resort, Kimberley Alpine Resort and Fernie Alpine Resort. This area of British Columbia is famous for its natural beauty and quality of life.
