With an “A” rating from Florida’s school rating system, Indian River Charter High School (IRCHS) was named a School of Excellence by the Florida Department of Education and a Silver Medal School by US News and World Report. Located on Florida’s Atlantic shore, IRCHS places special emphasis on visual and performing arts and takes advantage of the consistently pleasant weather with its signature golf program.

The Indian River campus’ state-of-the-art facilities include a professional performance venue and theater. Students have access to ChromeBook laptops in every classroom, and the school provides the Visual and Performing Arts program with access to Mac labs and Adobe Products.
SPORTS AND ARTS
Indian River’s comprehensive golf program offers more than just competition, focusing on developing skills, etiquette, golf history, and the golf industry. Students can also take advantage of the ideal climate with sports and club activities. Outside of golf, all team sports listed in the Options Available are sport teams in the community or at local high schools and are not directly available at Indian River. Students are welcome to try out to take part on these sports teams.
Indian River places a strong emphasis on visual and performing arts. The school has a professional-level performance venue, “The Dome,” and a Black Box Theater.
AWARD AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS
The state’s school rating system gives IRCHS an “A” rating. Additionally, the school has College Board and AP Capstone School certifications. The Florida Department of Education recognizes Indian River as a School of Excellence.

Situated along Florida’s Atlantic Coast, Vero Beach is a desirable travel destination. The town is especially known for golf, water sports, and fishing. Students can walk around town or use Vero Beach’s public transportation system to explore numerous beaches, museums, nature tours, and art galleries.
