Located in the province of Alberta’s largest and capital city, the Edmonton Public Schools is recognized as one of the best in Canada. Alberta is renowned for its high quality of education, ranking No. 2 in the world in both reading and science scores, and in the top 12 for math. Schools in this district offer various unique programs such as sports academies, specialty skills programs, French Immersion Program, and AP Courses.
Students at Edmonton Public Schools have access to facilities such as ice rinks, swimming pools, curling arenas, golf courses, and private fitness facilities. SCHOOL PROFILE AND ACADEMICS The Durham Catholic District School Board (DCDSB) is located along the coast of Lake Ontario and is a little more than an hour outside of Toronto. The Durham Catholic District School Board has four different foreign languages to offer in addition to their ESL program. All the schools in this district also have Advanced Placement courses for students to take as well as a couple Dual Credit course opportunities. There are also many electives for students to choose from including Drama, Law, and Marketing. Extracurricular activities are quite popular at the schools, featuring both artistic options such as Art Club and Drama Club and interest-based clubs such as Social Justice and Yearbook. DISTRICT PROFILE The Nanaimo-Ladysmith School District is located on the East Coast of Vancouver Island and is only a 90-minute ferry ride from downtown Vancouver. Students have the opportunity to take Advanced Placement Courses in the areas on Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. In addition to these AP Courses, the Nanaimo-Ladysmith School District also offers French Immersion and Dual Credit Courses with Vancouver Island University for students to receive college credit.
