Coquitlam, in Metro Vancouver, is a public-school district in British Columbia, Canada. Nestled in the mountains and edged by the Pacific Ocean and the Fraser River, Coquitlam has a mild climate with a safe environment and an affluent lifestyle. In addition to seven foreign language options and ESL, Coquitlam’s many and varied programs include Advanced Placement, the prestigious International Baccalaureate Diploma, French Immersion, Sports Academies, and a Confucius Institute. Students in the Coquitlam School District also take part in a large number of extracurricular programs including eSports, Model United Nations, Fly Fishing, and many more. SCHOOL PROFILE AND ACADEMICS Located on the territories of the Nuu-chah-nulth First Nation along the central west coast of Vancouver Island, School District 70’s Alberni District Secondary School (ADSS) offers students a beautiful living environment with challenging academics. ADSS offers a Canada Hockey Skills Academy, an early French Immersion program, a leadership program, a forestry program, and dual credit courses in partnership with Vancouver Island University and North Island College.
