School Description

School and Academics
Bishop Stortford is an exceptional co-educational day and boarding school set in 130 acres. With excellent academic success, it ensures a well-rounded education for all its students. Bishop’s Stortford College is a wonderful place of learning – a school large enough to provide an outstanding range of opportunities for developing well-rounded, skilful and happy young people, yet small enough for each individual to be known and nurtured.

Boarding at Bishop's Stortford College is about fun, friendship and feeling at home. The aim of their boarding houses is simply to be the best “home away from home,” a place pupils enjoy returning to, a place of fun and companionship, to share all the good things in their lives as well as finding support, advice and guidance when needed. Living and working together in a spirit of co-operation, respect and enthusiasm helps to build a strong yet diverse community in which individuals can thrive, irrespective of background, interests or nationality.

Sports and Arts
The Senior School Art Department is located in a stunningly spacious Art Centre and it plays a central part in the life of the College. The purpose built Art Centre has many large studios, including a sculpture studio, a workshop, a gallery space, an IT suite and a well resourced departmental library. This allows pupils to become involved in painting, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, textiles, glass, graphic design, photography, fashion, animation, computer generated imagery and film making.

Awards and Accomplishments
The Bishop's School is considered by the independent school inspectorate, a governmental department for education, an excellent education provider in the UK.
