Scottsdale Unified School District is one of the best in the state; five of its high schools accept international high school students. The district offers the prestigious International Baccalaureate Diploma, award-winning arts programs, career and technical education, and STEM programs. Scottsdale high schools provide a comprehensive American experience.
Many of the district’s impressive campus facilities have been recently updated and feature modern computer labs, theaters, career centers, athletic facilities, and production labs.
SPORTS AND ARTS
Competitive sports teams in the district including soccer and baseball have won a total of five state championships in the last two years. Students in grades 9-11 can participate in sports.
Students have ample opportunities for creative growth including an award-winning advertising and media arts programs, an award-winning theater program, and a culinary arts career education program.
AWARDS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS
One of the district’s high schools is ranked the #1 high school in Arizona by Newsweek. It is also the only school in Arizona with student winners of the Siemens Westinghouse Competition and Intel Science Talent Search, two of the most prestigious science competitions in the U.S. One high school in the district has the only Arizona high school drama club to be invited to the world’s largest arts festival, the Edinburgh Fringe.
Located only 20 minutes outside of Phoenix, Scottsdale is an urban metropolitan city known for its consistently pleasant weather. Along with a lively downtown area, it is home to many parks and outdoor exploration opportunities.
