Building good character along with instilling academic excellence is the goal of Urbandale High School, a comprehensive four year secondary school. One of the school’s biggest strengths is its diverse and multi-cultural community that speaks over 42 different languages providing an opportunity for all students to learn from others their age from around the world. In 2007, it was named “State School of Character” by the Institute for Character Development for its character-building education and facilitating leadership through mentoring programs.
Urbandale High School’s newest campus facilities were completed in 2009. Among the outstanding features of the school include a performing arts center, a media center, computer labs, a football stadium, gymnasiums, softball/baseball fields and locker rooms.
SPORTS AND ARTS
Urbandale High School celebrates its many athletic accomplishments with their own Hall of Fame. The most recent additions being State Champions in both dance and cross country in 2015. The arts program is also highly celebrated with students appearing at local festivals, productions, and parades.
Urbandale, Iowa is located in the area commonly known as the US “Heartland” for its open and down-to-earth people. The area’s population has reached nearly 30,000 residents with a reputation for its safe streets and neighborhoods and an active and dynamic downtown business center. Urbandale is a small city that has something for everyone.

The district leads the state of Arizona in scoring due to its strong emphasis on the core academics. SCHOOL PROFILE 'Iolani Shool is a culturally diverse, co-educational college preparatory school. With more than 150 years of history, it is recognized as one of the top college preparatory schools in the United States. Through dynamic and personalized instruction in a multitude of disciplines, 'Iolani develops liberally educated, well-rounded individuals. FACILITIES There are a number of great facilities on the 25-acre campus at 'Iolani School. The Sullivan Center for Innovation and Leadership is a 40,000 square food building that is home to research science, design, and applied technologies. Outside of the academic buildings, students can use a number of athletic facilities, including fields, a pool, and a six-lane outdoor track. SPORTS AND ARTS Students at 'Iolani School participating in sports are continuing a long, proud tradition that goes back to the 1930s.
