School Description

The Winchendon School is a traditional college preparatory school with small class sizes. The school’s ColLAB program allows students to independently complete a semester- long project of their choosing with support from teachers. The school is a member of the Hybrid Learning Consortium, a program that offers students a wide variety of online AP, honors, and regular courses.

The Winchendon School is set among the heart of the New England countryside less than two hours from the city of Boston. Facilities include a new art facility, new athletic fields, a performing arts studio, a science and math building, a greenhouse and garden with a chicken coop, an ice rink, and an 18-hole golf course.

The school offers a wide variety of interscholastic athletics and recreational sports. The baseball team recently won the 2019 New England Championship. Many students have been recruited to play at the highest collegiate levels.
Winchendon also has an outstanding fine arts program featuring the Annual Student Art Show, a yearly musical production, and a spring play production.

A student of The Winchendon School was nationally recognized by the National Center for Women in Information Technology for “Aspirations in Computing” two years in a row.

The Winchendon School’s six dormitories house two students to a room and are staffed by dorm parents on every floor. Students have an extensive selection of activities and clubs to choose from, such as Women in STEM, Snowboarding, and Journalism.
