School Description
Located in the city of Rochester, New York, Allendale Columbia School is a member of the Hybrid Learning Consortium to offer online AP, honors, and regular courses that wouldn’t be accessible on campus. They offer specialized programs in global engagement, entrepreneurship, and STEM/innovation, as well as community projects for local engagement and an enriching hands-on academic experience.
FACILITIES
The 30-acre campus has 41 classrooms, a library, a performance art center, three music rooms, three art studios, six science labs, four computer labs, and a digital art lab. In 2015, the school added a design and innovation laboratory with 3D printers, Mac computers, drafting tables, and tools.
SPORTS AND ARTS
Allendale Columbia School is partnered with another independent school in Rochester to offer a comprehensive selection of competitive sports such as golf, volleyball, and track.
Students present four drama productions and six concerts each year on the 500-seat Curtis Performance Center’s professional stage.
AWARDS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Worth Magazine recognized Allendale Columbia School as a top 100 school for sending students to Ivy League universities.
DORMITORIES AND STUDENT LIFE
Boarding students at Allendale live in one of two homes next to the campus. The boys’ dorm houses ten students and the girls’ dorm houses eight. A private chef serves dinner every evening and the school organizes on- and off-campus activities every weekend.
