School DescriptionThe Tacoma Public School District is the third largest district in the state of Washington. Tacoma’s high schools’ strong academic curricula include the prestigious International Baccalaureate Diploma and 6 foreign language options and are supplemented by interesting extracurricular and sports programs.
All of Tacoma’s frequently upgraded high schools have their own athletic facilities and various academic buildings.
SPORTS AND ARTS
All schools offer a wide variety of sports, clubs, and arts courses. Tacoma District’s Wilson High School has a particularly successful and comprehensive athletic program.
Stadium High School has the most comprehensive art department in the district. Unique opportunities include the nationally recognized glassblowing program.

With over 168,000 students, Los Angeles Unified School District is the 2nd largest in the country. Four of their public high schools accept international students. The district’s outstanding academics have earned it a California Gold Ribbon Award. Schools in the district offer a combined 14 foreign languages and over 40 AP courses as well as honors options. FACILITIES Los Angeles Unified School District’s recent improvements to their campus facilities include new or upgraded sports complexes, outdoor communal areas and quads, and state-of-the-art learning and performing arts centers. SPORTS AND ARTS The district’s championships teams compete in a variety of sports including golf, soccer, American football, and water polo. The All District High School Honor Band is world renowned, drawing the finest musicians from its individual high school band programs. ‘Iolani School is a culturally diverse, co-educational college preparatory school. With more than 150 years of history, it is recognized as one of the top college preparatory schools in the United States. Through dynamic and personalized instruction in a multitude of disciplines, ‘Iolani develops liberally educated, well-rounded individuals. FACILITIES There are a number of great facilities on the 25-acre campus at ‘Iolani School. The Sullivan Center for Innovation and Leadership is a 40,000 square foot building that is home to research science, design, and applied technologies.
