School Description

Edmund Burke School is a progressive college preparatory school in the heart of Washington DC. Offering challenging academics, world-class arts and championship sports, students at Edmund Burke are some of the best and brightest in the US. In fact, SAT scores average an impressive 1830 with 100% of students accepted to college – many to Ivy League Universities. The intimate learning environment promotes lively group discussions that develop critical thinking, creativity and problem-solving skills.
The campus has recently expanded, adding a new building to increase both size and capacity. Facilities include two computer labs, offices, classrooms, a library, a music room, athletic facilities, and a theater.
Edmund Burke’s athletic program offers a range of interscholastic sports and club level competition as well as instruction. The school has won several Potomac Valley Athletic Conference (PVAC) championships in track and field, softball and soccer. Edmund Burke offers a comprehensive art program with the understanding that painting, drawing, ceramics, music and acting are important to brain development.
Washington DC is the nation’s capital and the center of all three branches of the federal government - including the Congress, The President and Supreme Court. Famous for the many national monuments and museums, the city hosts 176 foreign embassies and is the headquarters of many international organizations. The area also hosts more than 20 excellent colleges, all within a one hour drive from DC.
