Walnut Valley Unified School District is located in the foothills of Southern California’s East San Gabriel Valley. It offers outstanding academic, arts and athletics pathways and programs including the International Baccalaureate, Advanced Placement, Project Lead the Way for Biomedical Sciences and Computer Science, Academic Design Program, Cisco Networking Academy, and CTE Career Pathways. Combined with over 100 campus clubs, there is something for everyone!

The athletic facilities in the district include an impressive football stadium, pool, baseball and softball diamonds, soccer field, and tennis courts. In addition, there is an orchestra room, band room, well-stocked library, and many outdoor seating areas for students to enjoy the Southern California weather during their breaks.

There are many sports available in the district, including football, soccer, cheerleading, basketball and water polo. Walnut Varsity sports won 13 of 22 Varsity Hacienda League Championships in 2018-19. State regulations in California can cause some restrictions for international students playing Varsity-level sports at their school. Please contact us for details.
With a variety of arts courses at many levels, students can discover their talents in any area of interest, such as in the marching band, symphonic orchestra or fine arts classes.

The high schools in the district have received numerous awards, such as being named a California Distinguished School, a California Gold Ribbon School, a National Blue Ribbon School and a California School Board Association Golden Bell recipient. Both schools are annually ranked as one of the best high schools by US News and World Report.

The district sits between two cities, Walnut and Diamond Bar. Walnut has been ranked the best place to live in California in 2009 and 2011 and offers shopping, dining and recreation facilities. Diamond Bar is home to beautiful residential areas, parks, and industry. The district is also located in Los Angeles, meaning international students have the chance to explore one of the world’s most famous cities during their free time!
