Located on the coast of Northeastern Maine, Washington Academy offers unique programs such as a high-level coastal ecology/marine biology track and AP, honors, and college credit courses.

Washington Academy’s facilities include an industrial arts building, a gymnasium, several athletic fields and courts, a fine arts building, and a large music hall. The first academy building, built in 1823, houses classrooms and the health center.

Many of Washington Academy’s competitive sports teams, including soccer, cheering, and basketball, have won state championships. The school’s tennis team is extremely popular among the student body.
The school’s arts department produces a play every school year and an annual Spring Show. Students also have the opportunity to learn to play the guitar or study cultural dance.

Washington Academy’s three dormitories are equipped with phone service, wireless internet, televisions, and large kitchens. Boarding students participate in the residential life curriculum, which facilitates weekend trips and events, family-style dinners, and daily extracurriculars.
