HIGHLIGHT INFO

Founded in 1842, St. Johnsbury Academy offers over 200 courses, including more than 30 AP classes and the AP Capstone Diploma program, seven engineering and robotics courses, and four foreign languages. A National Blue Ribbon School, St. Johnsbury also has an extensive ESL program, a biomedical and health sciences certificate, and dual enrollment partnership with Southern New Hampshire University.

FACILITIES
St. Johnsbury Academy’s village-style campus is situated in a traditional small New England town. The campus features a photography studio, music performance studios, a 250-seat black box theater, a 20,000-volume library, a multi-sport turf field, an indoor pool, tennis courts, indoor and outdoor tracks, and more professional-quality facilities.

SPORTS AND ARTS
Students can choose from dozens of interscholastic sports teams including skiing, ice hockey, and ultimate Frisbee. Recently, athletes have taken home state championships in cross-country running, field hockey, indoor track, baseball, and alpine skiing.
f students are looking for art courses and activities, look no further! St. Johnsbury has over 40 unique art courses such as clay, stagecraft, and fashion design. Many students win the State and National Scholastic Art Award each year.

AWARDS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS
In 2020, St. Johnsbury students were recognized as National Merit Semi-Finalists, U.S. Presidential Scholars, won 37 Scholastic Art Awards, and won the Vermont Science Olympiad. The 30th president of the United States, Calvin Coolidge, graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy.

DORMITORIES AND STUDENT LIFE
Faculty members reside in each dorm, and each student is assigned a dorm parent who acts as the student’s mentor and communicates regularly with the student’s family. Students choose activities for the school to plan, like concerts and wilderness excursions.
