San Luis Coastal Unified School District
School DescriptionSan Luis Coastal Unified School District has schools located in the coastal foothills of central California and right along the coast of the Pacific Ocean. In addition to the schools excellent locations, they also offer impressive academics, such as 20 AP Courses
to choose from. Schools in the San Luis Coastal Unified School District are recognized as one of “America’s Best High Schools” by Newsweek, a California Distinguished School, and a National Blue Ribbon School.
The district has a variety of facilities for students to use, including athletic fields, an auto shop, a pool, and a gymnasium. The schools also have newly renovated classrooms with LED lighting and a brand new science wing on one of the schools.
SPORTS AND ARTS
With a variety of sports throughout fall, winter, and spring, there are a number of different teams that students can join. In particular, one of the high schools has a traditionally strong cross country program, with both teams winning numerous league and state championships throughout the years.
There are plenty of arts opportunities for students, both fine arts and performing arts. Some unique offerings include ceramics, digital photography, and television and video

Students must be age 15-18 on August 1; All enrollment paperwork for school year must be completed by July 15, no exceptions; Students must have 2 doses varicella is given on or after 13th birthday; *Students wishing to play varsity sports MUST make this desire clear on application. Additional paperwork must be completed by school in order for student to play varsity sports. Seniors cannot play JV". School will start reviewing applications in April. All students are able to try out for a sports team. Varsity level sports will likely require a sit out period determined by the Athletic Association for the state (CIF). JV level sports do not require a sit out period. Morro Bay High School operates on a semester schedule; San Luis High School operates on trimester schedule. With over 168,000 students, Los Angeles Unified School District is the 2nd largest in the country. Four of their public high schools accept international students. The district’s outstanding academics have earned it a California Gold Ribbon Award. Schools in the district offer a combined 14 foreign languages and over 40 AP courses as well as honors options. FACILITIES Los Angeles Unified School District’s recent improvements to their campus facilities include new or upgraded sports complexes, outdoor communal areas and quads, and state-of-the-art learning and performing arts centers. SPORTS AND ARTS The district’s championships teams compete in a variety of sports including golf, soccer, American football, and water polo. The All District High School Honor Band is world renowned, drawing the finest musicians from its individual high school band programs. Chino Valley Unified School District’s has four high schools that accept international students. The distinguished district has some of the best schools in California and offers unique academic programs such as STEM, engineering, veterinary studies, and agriculture. The district boasts test scores and graduation rates that exceed state and national averages as well as over 35 AP options. International students make up 2% of the student body. FACILITIES The district’s high school campuses have large-scale athletic facilities, including fields for football, baseball, and soccer; synthetic running tracks; gymnasiums; and aquatic centers. Campuses have an extensive network of computer labs. One high school offers agriculture students access to a working farm. SPORTS AND ARTS The district’s strong athletic reputation is upheld by their many graduates who have gone on to become professional basketball, football, soccer, and American football players.
